Trees and Topiary
The Garden Studio Oswestry March 2026
A new course for students inspired by the ornamental and sculptural qualities of topiary
They learnt how to create these three dimensional forms in stitch. Gaining an understanding of the tonal values that are so important in capturing these powerful shapes
We all chose a design and painted on silk to start the process, which gives a base. This was combined with free motion machine embroidery to give depth and texture
